Under
13 medal and trophy presentation evening - 17 May 2003
The under
13's medal and trophy presentation evening was recently held at the
club. In typical Wisbech tradition a feast of food and drink was in
abundance as the large gathering of club members, friends and family
paid tribute to the first ever Wisbech side to win the sought after
Norfolk County Cup. Chairman John Matthews on behalf of the club received
the David Blizzard Memorial Trophy (Norfolk County
Championship Cup) from under 13 captain Darryl Veenendaal as well as
the Boston7's Festival Winners Trophy from vice
captain Trigger Coe. After paying tribute to the players, coaches
and parents, Chairman John Matthews presented each player with a champions
medal. Special tribute and gratitude was paid to the Referee
Jim Kennaway who had refereed all but two of the under 13 home
games throughout the 2002/03 season. His high quality consistent refereeing
had help contribute to the team's understanding, appreciation and discipline
which was so vital throughout their cup
campaign.
